Education & Training

​Dr David Oehme MBBS (Hons) PhD FRACS completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at Monash University, Melbourne Australia in 2004, graduating with honours. In 2008, he commenced neurosurgical training with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, obtaining his fellowship examination in 2015.

Throughout his neurosurgical and spine surgery training, Dr Oehme worked at The Royal Melbourne Hospital, The Royal Children’s Hospital, St Vincent’s Hospital, Monash Medical Centre and The Alfred Hospital.

​Dr Oehme extended his training by completing a PhD at Monash University, researching degenerative spinal conditions and novel biotechnologies to treat disc degeneration. He is considered a world expert in the field.

During his neurosurgical training, Dr Oehme has worked closely with some of Australia’s most skilled and respected neurosurgeons, perfecting the art of neurosurgery and minimally invasive spine surgery.  Dr Oehme consults and operates at the following hospitals and consulting locations:

  • St John of God Private Hospital in Berwick
  • Waverley Private Hospital in Mount Waverley
